Hennepin Technical College - Eden Prairie, MN

The No Rules Workshop provides a time of interaction, shooting, and information. After attending this workshop participants will have the knowledge of various forms of social networking such as Facebook, Blogging and Twitter. They will share their cost-free networking techniques and how their use have impacted their business in a positive way. Adina explains and demonstrates how to use the features of Facebook, Twitter and Blogging to increase your exposure on the web. An overview of Scott and Adina’s pricing and business strategies will be discussed.

A photoshoot where Scott’s uses various lighting and photo techniques will be demonstrated. The workshop provides 10 flash triggers for participants to share so they can use the equipment being demonstrated. A short demonstration of using video lights indoors in low light conditions is provided (typical wedding reception/evening lighting). Participants are encouraged to submit images for Scott to edit/critique.

Scott’s unique post processing methods using Lightroom and Photoshop are explained and demonstrated so that attendees can see how he makes his images wow his clients. Textures, presets and actions and how they interact with each other along with his theory of “shooting with processing in mind” will be discussed.

Attendees should expect a vigorous discussion and an enjoyable time with Scott and Adina as they share on their business success, their photo techniques and what has brought them so far in a such a short time.

Wednesday night, TCPPA members, Dan Davis, Jon Wright and Tina Ness attended the season Finale of "America's Next Top Model" at the "Drink" in Uptown. Minnetonka native, Raina Hein was named the runner-up after weeks of eliminations. Raina graciously posed for "grin and grabs" and autographed hats for attendees. She plans to remain in the Twin Cities area until late summer.

Social Networking for Photographers
Join Jon Wright and Bill Clark for a workshop on how to utilize the internet to get noticed in this cluttered noisy medium called the internet. Topics will include how to gain exposure with your web site. How to use social network sites to help your business. Please bring a laptop as we will help you set up Facebook, Twitter, working with Google and others. WiFi is available. Most of the apps covered are free. Some advertising and promotional application options may have charges associated. It all depends on how you want to create your campaign. Come learn how to build your business through exposure on the web!

The class will begin promptly at 9:30 AM.

We will break for lunch, then wrap up by 2:30 PM so as you won't compete with rush hour traffic.

"Storybook Wedding Album Design" with Loren Jones

This class will focus on the design of Storybook-style, flush mount wedding albums. Loren will teach his approach to selecting and compositing images into a visually pleasing book that tells the story of your couple's special day.

We will start with the setup of a basic page layout template, then will build an album in a storybook sequence. To participate in this class you need a good understanding of basic Photoshop skills including layers and masking, and a laptop with a fairly recent version of Photoshop installed (CS or later preferred.)

Due to the computer-intensive nature of this course class size will be limited to six (6) participants. You can bring your own images or we will supply images for the class. Expect to spend 6-8 hours.

Cost: $49 All proceeds will go to PPA Charities

About Colleen and Darty....

Colleen Gonsar and Darty Hines combine their talents for a program filled with information that can be used in your studio immediately. The creative team of Colleen and Darty are the perfect combination for your organization. Colleen and Darty will amaze you with their straight forward style and honest approach to running a photography studio. Colleen & Co. has 4 full time photographers and photographs around 800 seniors each year. They would love to share with you ideas that make seniors want to come to Colleen & Co. They believe in offering their clients a choice that is like no other in Central Pennsylvania. Colleen Gonsar started the studio in 1989 at the age of 20. The studio has grown to include 8 full time employees. A second location was added in 1997 and quickly grew into a new studio in December of 2001. The 6,700 sq. ft layout of the new studio will blow your mind. It is like no other. Both locations also include extensive outdoor studios. Colleen’s studio has become a success from having an unbelievable gifted staff, and listening and responding to the ever changing needs of the client. Colleen recently received her Craftsman Degree and has won multiple awards for her photography and marketing.

Darty Hines joined the Colleen & Co. team in 1998. He has worked in many studios in the Ohio area before making his home in Pennsylvania. He has won numerous awards for his photography including, including ANNE finalist in 2005 and 2007 for Senior Marketing. He is responsible for the creative side of the studio’s growth and designs most marketing campaigns. Darty also received his Craftsman Degree in 2002.
